Triathlon

You know the girl who walked (and chatted with her friends) during the 1-mile run at school? That was me.

I forged my mums signature to get out of PE class 100 times.

When I finally made it to the gym in 1998, I watched, in awe, as people ran on treadmills while I lifted a few tiny dumbbells and did a few crunches.

Sports was never my thing and I never really cared for it until quite a while later... and even when I did in 2001 it was mainly gym/weight training. Sometimes maybe do a 15 min jog.

That only really changed 6 years ago when I randomly decided to run a full marathon... I trained for 8 months and when I crossed that finish line at the Dubai Marathon 2013, my life had changed.

In April 2016, I decided to venture into the world of triathlon and have since then become extremely passionate about the sport, the discipline and the supportive people in the community.

To date, I have completed:

  • 5 Sprint distance triathlons

  • 2 Olympic distance triathlons

  • 2 IronMan 70.3 triathlons

  • 2 full marathons

  • 1 full trail marathon

What I love most about it is how much it has helped me get out of my comfort zone, test my own boundaries and limitations and learn new things, every day. And of course, the people I have met along the way.

Follow my triathlon journey!
